The exceptionally talented Jazz artist Maysa has released her CD entitled Smooth Sailing. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Maysa fans, and Jazz fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Smooth Sailing Maysa's artistic excellence is on full display as she has once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be her best work to date.Maysa has been a super star in the Jazz genre for quite a while now and Smooth Sailing is an excellent illustration as to why.Smooth Sailing has a pleasantly varied, mix of 11 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly superb artist.Listen to Smooth Sailing and I believe you'll find there's not much to dis-like about it. The songs are inspired, the production is simply outstanding, and Maysa's vocal work is in top form. Of particular note on this offering is her amazing rendition of All Day Long. If you're even mildly into Jazz music you'll enjoy this album. My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore is track 10, One More Chance. The exceptionally talented Rock artist Vanessa Carlton has released her CD entitled Harmonium. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Vanessa Carlton fans, and Rock fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Harmonium Vanessa Carlton's artistic excellence is on full display as Carlton has once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be her best work to date.I wish it weren't the case but, it's not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can't force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Harmonium. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish. One of the refreshingly nice things about this CD is the way all of the participating artists seem to be really enjoying themselves. Combine that with the overall presentation and you've got one of Vanessa Carlton's most impressive releases ever.I give Harmonium my highest recommendation. It just plain belongs in any serious music collectors collection regardless of genre preference. While ...

It was a year that saw pop music decline, music sites prosper and a Sheffield act take complete domination; 2006 was a productive year for everyone involved in British music. Bands were reforming & reintroducing themselves, and whilst most collected music awards few gained entrance to the annual Hall Of Fame event at Earls Court. Whether it was on television, on the internet or at festivals all year round bands were propelling themselves towards stardom. And none other so than the Arctic Monkey's, headed by Alex Turner, showed how a band could gain national attention; collect the Mercury Prize, and have two no.1 singles all whilst sparking a guitar-rock revival. Their unique take on college-life for a teen gained them a wide audience leading to the no. 1 fastest selling album: ever. And spearheaded by the successes of The Kooks, Snow Patrol, Fratellis and Kasabian they all began to eat away into pop's inner sanctum - the U.K. Top 40. Aided by the fall of Top Of The Pops and the crumbling of Smash Hits!; overall 2006 was a bad year for pop. Girl groups like Sugababes and Girls Aloud found the shoes were too big to fill, and despite desperate ...

Where to begin with ^^'s Sickness Volume Four? With such strange and interesting music I find myself inclined to find out a bit about the artists. A good place to start is with the artist's bio on Intolerance Records -"Nobody knows if ^|SiCk0|^ is male or female or even human for that matter... ^|SiCk0|^ wears a different type of disguise at every show. ^|SiCk0|^ has been known to dress as an old man, an old woman, an astronaut, Abe Lincoln, Alf, a baby..."This is an entity that describes their music as sounding like killing babies and claims influences so profound as self inflicted torture on their MySpace page. I wouldn't agree with a description of Sickness Volume Four as sounding like "killing babies", maybe this applies more so to ^^'s earlier work. What we have in this album is something very cool and at least to my music collection, unique.I'm not going to mince around genres too much, Sickness is what it is. Think of the spectrum of experimental and electronic genres out there - dissected and fused, not in a hack'n slash or copy and past way but with meticulous care and ingenuity. If you need a more concrete ...

Not sure what's happening with me on this one, but it seems like the more I listen to it, the better Spirit gets. Spirit put simply is one of Jewel's best CDs to date. It's a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I'm more than happy to announce that's exactly what I must say about this one. There simply isn't a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all.Jewel possesses the characteristic of being able to win you over with her talent alone. The kind of artist I frankly just flat out enjoy listening to.This is a first rate CD, delivering a little something for everyone. I give it my highest recommendation. It's quite simply great listening. A must buy if you're even mildly into Pop music. While this entire album is outstanding some of my favorites are track 2 - What's Simple Is True, track 9 - Enter From The East, and gt3My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore is track 1 - Deep Water. Outstanding!Spirit Release Notes:Jewel originally released Spirit on November 17, 1998 on the ...
